Notes from this trip: This was our first caravan club site visit since we came back to caravanning after a 12 year break; we put the full awning up for third time and got it near to perfect this time. Most of the holiday was full of rainy days, but we didn’t let the weather bother us. We visited all over the lakes including Walney island in the south lakes and the South lakes animal park near barrow in Furness, the animal park had many different animals to see and many other amusements and facilities to fill a day. We also visited Bowness on Windermere and went to a lovely chocolate shop in the centre called Helens chocolates that had handmade chocolates that tasted gorgeous. We also visited the all famous Kirkstone pass which makes a different picture every different way the sun shines!! Also on the way into Bowness we went on the chain ferry a few times and kept losing our tow bar electric covers off, never to be found again! We also caught one of the rear mud flaps on the ramp onto the ferry, so if you are considering using the ferry to be aware of the clearance needed. Overall we spent a nice summer holiday week at Park Coppice CC site.

Short Site Review: When we arrived at the site we drove around the site and chose our pitch, the site is very large but set out in section sort of like culdisacks, each section has between 2-12 pitches and are all named different. We pitched at the bottom of the site near toilet block c and the pitch was very spacious. All of the three toilet blocks were well kept, and always clean when we used the facilities. The site was well maintained and wardens were about doing little bits and pieces. The site was quite noisy through the day with children; however we visited it in the height of summer so some noise was to be expected. Our only other criticism about this site is when it rains heavy the rain drips of the trees onto the caravan’s roof and can wake you up through the night. The site had a nice road that went down to the side of Lake Coniston and went through another campsite and eventually into Coniston village itself. Even with small christisisms we found it was a very nice site.
