Notes from this trip: Hello there, this trip was different once again, we just collected our new caravan a Bailey Senator Series 5 Oklahoma the
morning before leaving for our trip to Skipton. We collected the van and packed it with the essentials and headed off into the Saturday sun to try
all of its gadgets out!! We arrived at the site in good time and found there were only three free pitches - thank heavens for the new vans addition
of a mover, if we hadnt had it then it would have been a tight turn to get onto either of the three available pitches. We got set up after using the
mover (what a wonderfull creation!) and had some tea. We explored the vans great kit and then relaxed in the awning for some tea, we were then joined by a family of ducks!! One dcided to venture through the half open door of the awning to see if there was any food going! It got in a
litte and then ran straight back out with fear! However this didnt stop othe feathered friend having another go. We set the beds up which was a
really easy job - bedding onto the fixed bed, and some beddings onto each side of the dinette, a full size double and two full size singles in less
than ten minutes - perfect. After a peacfull nights sleep we awoke to sit out in the morning's sunshine with our breakfast before packing up and heading for home. An easy journey home, saw an even easier pitching of the caravan onto the drive - so in brief the new van is superb!
Short Site Review: Strid Wood Caravan Club Site is a small site set in a wood as the name suggests in the grounds of Bolton Abbey. It is
accesible to many parts of Yorkshire including the Yorkshire Dales and much more. The site is all gravel hard standing pitches which are well
kept and all get a peice of the sun - different parts of the day. The sites comunal toilet blocks are very clean and also well maintained with good
facilities and are placed central to the site giving each pitch an equal access to them. The site office also has a small shop that sells essential
items and little tubs of Yorkshire Dales Ice cream (I can really vouch for this Ice-Cream on a hot sunny day!) The wardens are friendly and there
is an electric barrier at the entrence to the site (each member is given a key fob for this). We couldnt hesitate to return to the site for a longer
stay in the future. Please note that the enterance to Bolton abbey has an arch-way that you have to tow through that is 9' 4" wide - but don't let
this put you off as we saw a buss and a tractor in front of us-both go through the archway with ease.
