Notes from this trip:After winning tickets courtesy of Eric at Caravanning4u, we keenly set off for Birmingham to visit the National Exhibition centre for the "National Boat, Caravan & Outdoor Show". We arrived Friday evening and booked in to the travel lodge, then went down later in the evening for a meal in the "Bar-Rest" pub a-joined to the Premier travel inn. We shared a table with two couples as they were pushed for space in the restaurant due to such a popular show, we got talking about caravans naturally and had a nice meal together. We went back up to our room and had a disturbed nights sleep before arising the next morning to go to the halls where our show was on. Mam drove across to the halls (as the NEC complex is so large) and we found the free parking really easy. We entered the show for opening times (10:00AM) and went straight into the first hall containing caravans & trade stalls. We had a look around many stands including that of Bailey, Swift, Explorer Group and other manufacturers then had a look around the trade stalls. We looked particularly at the stalls selling motor movers, to gather some information to read at a later date. We subscribed to Practical Caravan's magazine (I'm a monthly reader). We then ordered a few bits from Caravan Club's stand including some new stickers (of which were to be delivered to our door.) We then had a look around the motor homes, RV's & 5th wheelers and a few more trade stands, before calling it a day as we were jiggered!! All in all it was a great show and we had a fantastic time... so thanks again to Eric at Caravanning4u for the tickets. On the way home we stopped off via the Humber Bridge and i got a quick photograph.
